Pet Portraits are great keepsakes; they also make marvelous gifts for animal lovers in your life. Portraits may be done of a current pet or a beloved pet that has long since passed on. Gift certificates are available either for specific portraits or for any dollar amount you choose to be credited toward a portrait order. Some families like to pool their money for a special gift for hard-to-buy-for relatives that love their pets. Regardless of who receives the portrait, it is guaranteed to be a highly treasured belonging that will always be greatly valued and displayed in a place of honor.

SIZES & FRAMING:
You select the size portrait that suits your wall and your wallet (see pricing below). I work in standard sizes that will fit pre-made mats and frames giving you the option to purchase commercially available sets for a significant savings over custom framing shops. Due to the vast selection of mats and frames available and wide ranges of personal taste, I do not mat and frame finished paintings, allowing you to put your own personal touch on the portrait.

PHOTOGRAPHS:
All photos will be returned to you safely! Please refer to the photo tips page for information about taking and selecting photos to use. Remember that subjects and backgrounds can be combined from separate photos and such things as leashes, collars and hands can be deleted from the portrait. If your photos were taken by a professional photographer, you may need to get permission for them to be used.

SHIPPING:
Finished portraits are mailed via USPS Priority mail within the continental U.S. The portrait is sprayed with fixative and covered with acid-free glassine paper for protection during shipment. It is than sandwiched in cardboard and shipped in a Priority mail box along with your supplied photographs.

TURNAROUND TIME:
Waiting time varies depending on my backlog of commissions. Generally turnaround is in the 1 - 3 month range, with considerably longer times as Christmas nears. If you have a special date you would like a portrait by, please notify me when you place your order and I will do my best to have it for you by then. DO keep in mind the greater backlog as the month of December draws near.

PRICING:
The portrait price depends on your choice of size, head vs. full body, type of background etc. The chart below will give you a good idea of pricing. After discussion of your needs, I will quote you the price for your specific portrait. A 50% deposit is required when you place your order. Upon completion I will e-mail you a photo of your portrait for your approval. Your portrait will then be packaged and shipped to you. All costs for shipping and handling within the continental US are included in the quoted price.

BACKGROUNDS:
Standard prices listed above are for subject painted on colored paper with no background. If desired I can do an artistic blending of colors in the background or a fully detailed scenic background. Pricing for this addition ranges from $80 - $400 depending on size and complexity. (See examples)

ADDITIONAL SUBJECTS:
More than one pet can be included in your portrait and can come from different photos. Prices range from $175 - $300 extra depending on portrait size.
